Shivam Sevak – Who am I?
A Zoom talk by Shivam Sevak
Tuesday 29th September – 7pm
This talk explores some of humanity’s deepest questions: Why do we think the way we do? What shapes our fears, desires, dreams, and decisions? Are we driven by biology, conditioned by psychology, or guided by something beyond the mind and body?
Through the lenses of evolution, genetics, conscious and subconscious psychology, and spiritual philosophy, the session examines how human behaviour and identity are formed. From the origins of life and the role of genes, to the influence of suppressed desires, conditioning, and the search for the “true self,” the talk connects science, psychology, and spirituality to better understand who we are and why we experience life the way we do.
Shivam Sevak was born on 1st June 1994 in India and comes from a liberal family background that encouraged openness, inquiry, and independent thinking from an early age.
His interest in spirituality and metaphysical questions began quite early in life. Between 2014 and 2016, where he studied Vedic Astrology in Ahmedabad, India, which deepened his curiosity about the inner dimensions of life and human existence.
In 2020, he moved to the United Kingdom for higher studies and professional growth. He completed his MBA from University of Wolverhampton and later worked with CEVA Logistics in Birmingham, where he handled operations related to export shipments.
His deeper interest in understanding the human mind and consciousness eventually led him toward psychology. He came to London for further studies and completed his MSc in Psychology from University of Bedfordshire. During that period, he was also associated with Befriend, where he supported an individual through companionship and emotional assistance for mental wellbeing.
Alongside academics and professional life, Shivam remained deeply engaged with spiritual inquiry. Over the years, he listened to and explored the teachings of Osho, Swami Sarvapriyananda, Sadhguru, and many other contemporary spiritual voices. However, it was through listening to Acharya Prashant that he found a deeper sense of clarity and resolution in his spiritual search.
Today, my interests continue to revolve around spirituality, psychology, self-inquiry, and understanding the deeper dimensions of human life and consciousness and to make this world a better place to be.
